Below you will find some information for some of our most frequently asked questions.

During the afternoon your child can partake in a whole range of creative and physical activities. We divide the children into age appropriate groups and according to their interests and abilities.  The timetable below shows some of the many activities your child can choose from.

2.30 -3.15pm – Healthy Snack/Homework

3.15 – 4.30pm – Soccer, Tennis, Group Games, Art Projects, Creative Writing, Board games

4.30 – 5.00pm – Dinner/Snack

5.00 – 6.30pm  – Relay Races, Tag Rugby,Yoga, Karate, GAA, Puzzles, Crafts

Yes, at Kids Inc we support parents in providing healthy, well balanced diets for their children. We understand the importance of our role to introduce and educate young children about nutrition and the benefits of eating well. Our menus are carefully selected by ‘Little Dinners’ to provide the children with a varied and wholesome diet.  Snacks and water are available throughout the day.
Yes, children will have an opportunity to complete their homework in our after school programme as well as opting for our homework hour club.  Our staff will supervise and support children with their work, however, we still request that parents check their child’s homework at home. Reading homework is not done at Afterschool. It should be carried out at home on a 1:1 basis.
Our Childcare practitioners are qualified to a minimum Fetac level 5. Our sport coaches qualifications and skills include football, GAA, Yoga, Pilates, Fitness to music, Personal and fundamental skills training,
Kids Inc sets high expectations of behaviour through encouraging and praising good behaviour. We apply simple rules fairly and consistently.  Under no circumstances do we use any form of punishment.  We encourage children to respect themselves, each other and property. In the case of a particular incident or persistent unacceptable behaviour we always discuss ways forward with parents.  Behaviour policy is outlined clearly in our Policy and Procedures Manual.
No child will be released to anyone unknown to the staff without prior arrangements. Make sure that the person collecting your child is authorised and named on the registration form. This is the form you sign when enrolling your child with us. They will be required to provide photo identification and to sign in and out of our Visitors Register.
Parents in this situation must contact Kids Inc to say that they will be late and arrange with staff what to do. Children are only released from the setting to individuals named by the parent. When parents lateness impacts staff working overtime, a late fee is applied. For questions contact us here. The late fee can be given directly to the staff.
We cater for children with special diets and/or food intolerances. We ask parents to please ensure the Manager and your child’s educator is aware of your wishes.

Children with food intolerances/allergies and special diets are carefully supervised.

We ask parents not to bring in nuts/ peanuts/peanut butter or any nut containing product to the setting as some children can develop nasty reactions to these foods, as well as being a potential choking hazard.

It is our policy at Kids Inc to administer prescribed medicines, provided the relevant forms are signed and completed. Medicine will only be administered by prior arrangement with the setting manager. ONLY medicines that are labelled with name of medicine, name of child, directions for use and storage instructions will be administered. These procedures must also be applied to the administration of non-prescribed medication and homeopathic remedies.
